Carl Schut underwent outpatient shoulder surgery on Tuesday, October 8.
Sandy Riksen returned home on Saturday, September 28, following a week of care at Corewell Butterworth necessitated by a fall that caused two pelvic fractures and a bone chip of the right hip.
Steve Emelander (Connie) underwent surgery on Tuesday, October 1, in Greenville. Doctors repaired his dislocated left shoulder and a broken bone. He returned home on Wednesday, October 2; recovery will be a minimum of six weeks.
Pat Glasser has experienced no relief following limited treatments for two pinched spinal nerves; she is now awaiting an appointment with an orthopedic surgeon. Also, she is continuing consultations with multiple specialists to develop a treatment plan for symptoms that required hospitalization this summer.
Sandy Riksen underwent her third thoracentesis on Thursday, September 5, at the Lemmen Holton Center to remove fluid that continues to form near her lungs. Additionally, she continues to struggle with congestive heart failure and the compression fracture of her L2 vertebra.
Marcia Tift continues to battle severe kidney disease. At this time, she is not undergoing dialysis. Please pray for strength and endurance throughout this time.
Judy Huitema’s MRI from July 2024 revealed that there is no sign of Intracranial Metastatic Disease. Please pray that she remains in remission.
Brad Karsten's latest scan following his radioactive thyroid treatment revealed that the cancer has been contained to the thyroid; praise the Lord! He will continue to receive treatments for the thyroid tissue.
Mark Raglin continues to struggle with Alzheimer’s.
Phil Dreyer’s health has markedly improved following a recent hospitalization for an inflamed intestine, a UTI, nausea and nutritional concerns. Please pray that he continues to gain strength and endurance.

Sharon Tymes has been diagnosed with Parkinson's. A therapy regimen to help slow its progression will begin soon.
Roger Elders' leukemia remains in remission; however, his immune system has been low. For that reason, he is undergoing infusions to increase his blood count. Please pray for encouraging results and increased strength.
Carolyn Schafer’s latest brain MRI revealed that the cancer spots are gone; praise the Lord! She will undergo a follow up MRI in May. Additionally, she will continue with immunotherapy infusions every four weeks.
Faith Smit was expected to return home on Saturday, March 9, following reconstructive hip surgery on March 6 at the U of M Hospital in Ann Arbor. The surgery was less extensive than anticipated—and she is already full-weight bearing. Praise the Lord!
Jan Baar (regular attendee) is recovering at home following the removal of a cancerous portion of her right lung.
Jonah Hower (15-year-old son of Tom and Amy) has been diagnosed with stage 4 kidney disease—a condition reflective of kidneys that were smaller at birth and have not grown to function properly. Please pray for miraculous healing—as well as wisdom for the medical team as they discern the best treatment to remove excess fluid and waste from Jonah’s body.
