Deb Vollink is recovering at home following surgery for breast cancer on Thursday, January 2. Pathology reports showed no additional cancer in her lymph nodes.
Shirley VanDis underwent a successful outpatient surgery on Tuesday, January 7. Please pray for a clear pathology report in relationship to her breast cancer.
Mary Burgess underwent a heart valve replacement on Thursday, January 2, at Corewell Butterworth Hospital.
Phil Dreyer recently completed ten rounds of radiation treatments on his lungs; the treatments are designed to stagnate and stop any additional spread of his cancer. He is also recovering from pneumonia. Please pray for increased healing and strength.
Ruth Berndt will not be pursuing additional treatments for her pancreatic cancer. She values your prayers for peace and comfort as she receives palliative hospice care at home.
Emma Brouwer was able to have her chemo port removed two months earlier than anticipated. She will begin a six-month regimen of oral chemo on Thursday, December 26. Please pray for a tolerance of the medication--as well as an increase in healing and strength.
Kathie Nagelkirk underwent outpatient leg surgery on Monday, December 23, to address injuries sustained in an earlier automobile accident. She will be non-weight bearing for 12-14 weeks
Caleb Nykamp (14 year old son of Jamie and Michelle) suffered a broken femur on Friday, December 13, in a snowboarding accident. He underwent two surgeries on Saturday, December 14, at the DeVos Children’s Hospital. He will return home on Sunday, December 15.
Joel Bos underwent surgery to his right eye on Thursday, December 12. Doctors will remove a cataract before performing a cornea transplant. If the procedure goes well, the left eye will undergo the same treatment within the next few months.
Tom Snoeyink returned home on Monday, December 2, following successful triple bypass surgery on Wednesday, November 27, at U of M Health West/Metro Hospital.

Ann Whitmyer returned home on Tuesday, November 26, following a hospitalization for bilateral pneumonia and Covid. She will begin in-home PT/rehab the week of December 2.

Joshua Hower was released from Mary Free Bed on Saturday, November 23. He will continue to receive rehabilitation services as well as blood and platelets as an outpatient. Joshua and his family are very grateful for all the prayers and support throughout this process.

Melanie Karsten underwent outpatient shoulder surgery on Wednesday, November 20, at the St. Mary's Surgical Center.
Pat Glasser returned home on Friday, November 15, following back surgery on Tuesday, November 12. She began home-based therapy on Monday, November 18.
Brad Karsten returned home on Monday, November 4, following a hospitalization and treatment for a kidney infection, UTI, and complications with his breathing. An extensive course of follow-up care will include meetings with his pulmonologist, urologist, and sleep specialist.
