Ron Phillips was admitted to Corewell Health Blodgett on Thursday, June 5; he received care for C. diff. Following treatment, he was transferred to The Oaks in Byron Center on Monday, June 9, for PT and OT.
Mary Burgess is taking oral medication to address a diagnosis of cancer in her left lung; additionally, she is continuing with immunotherapy treatments. Please pray for increased strength and healing.

Karen Gernaat underwent bladder surgery at Trinity Health Grand Rapids on Tuesday, June 3. She returned home to the Oaks of Jamestown on Wednesday, June 4.
Brady Bohl (son of Zach and Katie) returned home late Saturday, May 31, following treatment at the DeVos Children’s Hospital beginning May 29 for cold and flu-like symptoms. His energy and white cell counts have increased substantially. Praise the Lord!
Dennis Grysen recently found that his cancer has spread to his pancreas and colon. Please pray for wisdom as he consults with his surgeon regarding potential treatment options.
Jack Hoekstra had a large amount of fluid removed from his left lung following a recurrence of Non-Hodgkin's lymphoma. On Monday, May 20, he began a series of four weekly infusions. Please pray for encouraging results regarding the infusions and for clarity concerning the best course of future treatment.
Barb McCoy's hip consultation determined that the bone tumor is not the source of pain. She will undergo PT to address the irritation. However, if the pain persists, she will be treated with injections.
Keith Graham’s prostate cancer has increased from stage one to stage four. He will undergo surgery on Wednesday, June 18. Please pray for a successful procedure and full healing.
Carolyn Schafer recently completed radiation treatments for small cell lung cancer near her esophagus. Please pray for wisdom and clarity as she determines her next steps of care.
Carol Graham underwent surgery on May 9 to improve the function of her bladder and to improve earlier damage to her kidneys. Please pray for encouraging results. She will have a consultation with her doctor on June 16.
Mel Drew suffered a stroke on Friday, May 9; he also broke his right wrist during a fall. He is recovering well at Corewell Blodgett Hospital; he was expected to return home on Friday, May 16, following physical therapy.
Jim Doorn underwent testing April 21-25 at the Cleveland Clinic Epilepsy Center to determine the cause of his ongoing seizures and TGA (transient global amnesia). Unfortunately, results were inconclusive. Please pray for opportunities to determine a clear diagnosis and course of treatment.
Carol Kramer underwent surgery on Wednesday, April 16, at Corewell Blodgett Hospital. Doctors successfully corrected where the stomach had passed through an existing hiatal hernia. Carol returned home on Thursday, April 17, to continue her recovery.
Pam Siegersma underwent successful surgery on Tuesday, April 15, at U of M Health West/Metro Hospital to replace hardware in her neck—addressing additional vertebrae and the impact of pinched nerves. She was released to her daughter's home on Wednesday, April 16, to continue her recovery. She will be in a restrictive neck brace for 12 weeks.
Joyce Tiesman underwent an endovascular procedure on Tuesday, March 25, to increase blood circulation in the main artery of her right leg. The procedure was more extensive than planned--requiring a night of hospitalization. She returned home on Wednesday, March 26, to continue her recovery.
Connor Schwartz continues to heal from eye surgeries performed on February 18 and 19 in Fairfax, Virginia. At this time, his left eye has experienced noticeable improvement. However, his right eye remains compromised with no change. Please pray for patience and encouragement as his vision continues to improve.
Barb Ricord consulted with her oncologist on Tuesday, March 11. They are confident that all cancer was removed during her latest surgery. Praise the Lord! She will now undergo three short radiation treatments to complete her recovery.
Roger Elders had an MRI of his brain on Tuesday, February 18. He also had a consultation regarding speech therapy on Wednesday, February 19, at Mary Free Bed.
